Catch up

One Month Old

It snowed for Aubrey's 1 month pics, and we couldn't resist getting a picture of him in it.

6 weeks old

First Stock Show

So we made it to the Ft. Worth Stock show with Aubrey in tow. He did really great on his first road trip and big outing. He got to see lots of people that have been waiting to meet him, and spend quality time with Grammy and Pops. We will be taking another road trip soon to see MeMe and Papa.

Be still.

It has been a while since I have been compelled to blog about something that didn't involve Aubrey. I am sure by the end of this blog I will have blogged about him to, but that isn't the reason behind this blog.
I believe as a Christian there are things/people that are put on your heart to pray for. You may not know why but it is a desperate need to pray. I love that about our God. You may not even know the reason but he has you praying earnestly. After Aubrey was born I found myself without my morning prayer time, and I was so out of whack because I hadn't been getting it. My husband so kindly reminded me that it is ok to take that time for myself so that I wouldn't have a nervous break down. But as soon as I started to make that time again for me and God things righted themselves and I couldn't feel better. I have been reading in 1st and 2nd Samuel and have been getting background on David which then shows me such amazing things when reading in Psalms. (I promise that this rambling is coming together). Last Sunday we read in Psalm 46 and it really hit me, the praying that I had been doing and the strength behind it is so powerful even when you don't know it. The 2 things that I took from the psalm is the first verse "God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble." (which is a verse on my bathroom mirror that I have had for years) and the 10th verse "Be still, and know that I am God". AMEN!!!!!! Be still. Those two words say it all. Listen to God. Know what he is putting on your heart may not make since at the time, but that it is for a reason and is very powerful.
I may not understand all that I read in the bible, but I know that if I am still an explanation when present itself and it will be clear for me. In the old testament there is alot of fighting that goes on, and I never really realized it until now, and that most of the psalms then reflect portions of the fighting. Here in 46 there are images in comparison to a fortress under siege and that God is there within that fortress so it will be protected. In today's time we are the fortress. God inhabits us and when we are under siege you have to remember that. When you are in the midst of a fight where the devil is giving you all he's got remember that no matter what you will be protected. That is such a comforting thought. God is our refuge...an ever present help in trouble.

My Favorites (so far)

This child is photographed everyday. I mean I just can't get enough. You wouldn't either with a face like this.

Cousin Time

These are some of my favorite pics.

I can only imagine the trouble that these boys are girls are going to get into as Aubrey grows, and is the youngest cousin to be blamed....rightfully so!

Some of my favorite quotes from the cousins meeting Aubrey are:
"What can he do?"
"Can he walk?"
"Does he wake up?"
"I am going to go home practice holding my Rapunzel doll"

Aubrey Frank Lockhart

Aubrey Frank Lockhart

7:29pm
7 lbs. 14 oz.
21 inches

He's here!!!! I know it has taken me some time to get to this blog, and I am currently writing it one handed. We are so overwhelmed with our new jobs as parents that sometimes looking at him is the most important thing that I can do at any one second and writing this blog..... well.....just doesn't rank anymore. It is nothing short of amazing that our little boy is here.

Some of you were in on trying to guess his name and we are so excited that we can use it now. Aubrey is named after two of his great grandfather's. Both of these men were very influential in our lives, and both known as PaPa to each of us. Both are our dad's dad, and when we found out that it was a boy there was no other name that fit him better. The moment that the ultrasound showed that it was a boy he has been Aubrey to us.

1-1-11

I think that today's date is very thought provoking, so hang in there with me. Number one initiates a couple of thoughts. But the first being Our Heavenly Father. Second being this child I carry. Third being Davy and I as a couple.

Today starts a new year one filled with promise and hope. I have to say that last year also started with promise and hope...and probably every other year when we sit back and think about it. At the beginning of 2010 we knew that the year would be an amazing one for us because we were going to get to try to have a baby. Just being able to try for a child was a miracle, something that we had accepted as a non-possibility was now coming true. And when we got pregnant so quickly, what a blessing that was. We were beyond the moon excited, but that excitement soon turned to extreme heartache when I miscarried. Reliving that time makes me take pause and see what an amazing, loving, comforting, all knowing, and powerful God that we have. During that time I could feel it, but also was so comforted by that. The relationship that grew out of that is something that I am thankful for 2010 about. It prepared me, and continues to prepare me for what is ahead. I know that it makes me even more thankful for this child that will be here in a matter of days. No matter what is ahead for him my love is only a fraction of the love that our God has for each and everyone of us. This child is His child, and the comfort that gives me makes the ups and downs of this pregnancy seem like nothing. Lastly the double ones (11) makes me think of my marriage. Two singular beings that together finish off the equation made with the first two ones. Not only has my relationship grown with God, but has overwhelmed me with my husband. This year could have torn us apart but with God at the front, and the blessing of this child it has really solidified us. I can't wait to see what is ahead, and no matter what it may be my ones are going to be the things that get me through. Much love and hope to you all. Happy New Year!!!

Boy O Boy- 36 weeks

So I know I am late getting this up, but it was more about getting the courage to post this one because this baby is GROWING and taking prisoners!!!! If there was a question about if I am pregnant, well now there isn't. I am bigger everyday, but still so in love with it all. I have gone from anxious to ready pretty quickly. We can't wait to meet this little guy, and introduce him to all of you. But for now this is his portrait, via me.

Our bags are packed, the nursery is done. Now the waiting begins. I will work right up until Christmas, and then be off until March. I am excited about having some time off to spend with family before baby boy gets here, but I can't wait to reveal his name, and his face to all of you.
